Tea with Tilley - July 2024
Tea with Tilley
Saturday, July 20, 1:00-3:00pm
Walker's Pointers and guests came out and met Walker’s Point/Barlochan’s own Alex Tilley, his artistic partner in life Hilary Clark Cole and
Nancy Beal, the author of the authorized biography -
The ENDURABLE Alex Tilley
Alex and Nancy signed copies of the book, and Alex graciously signed many Tilley hats and listened to owners tell their personal Tilley clothing stories.
We then heard Hilary tell Alex's story - sadly, his Parkinson's condition forced him to leave early - but we heard many interesting anecdotes and some passages from the book accompanied by a portfolio of personal pictures, including some of HRH Prince Philip and Sir Edmund Hillary with their Tilley hats.
We found out how the Tilley hat came to be, about Alex's family history in Muskoka, how the Tilley hat won the Gulf War and so much more!
Thank you Alex, Hilary and Nancy!!
