Walker's Point Community Centre Activities
Regular activities are organized and offered to residents and non-residents of Walker’s Point at NO COST.
The Township of Muskoka Lakes issues permits and supports the endeavours of organizers and participants.
Indoor Activities
These are the indoor activities that are held throughout the week at the Walker’s Point Community Centre.
Walk with Ease - Mondays 10:00-11:00 AM
The Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Program is a community-based physical activity and self-management education program. In the large hall at the Community Centre. the program's CD is played and the attending group follows the directions. The program has proven to increase balance, strength, and walking pace. A variety of weights is available and weights can be used while following the 45 min program. Warm-up, aerobic, cool-down, wall and chair exercises make up the routine. Come improve your overall health while walking indoors in the hall.
Tai Chi - Tuesdays 10:00-11:00 AM
Tai Chi improves strength, flexibility, aerobic conditioning, and balance. There are also immense emotional and mental benefits. A DVD program is cast onto the hall’s projection wall and the group follows Simplified Tai Chi for Beginners as members support each other.
Yoga - Wednesdays 10:00-11:00 AM
Yoga helps improve muscle tone and strength as well as respiration and cardio health. A DVD program is cast on to the hall’s projection wall and the group follows and enjoys the gentle stretch of The Gift of Yoga
Quilting - Wednesdays 1:00-3:00 PM Sept-June
A very experienced group of ladies gather for an afternoon of fellowship and quilting on special projects. Newcomers of all experience levels are welcome at any time.
Pickleball - 10:00-12:00
This increasingly popular game is attractive to many individuals. Drop in any Thursday, September-June, whether you have your own equipment or not. An indoor net and court markers are set up inside the hall and two hours fly by. Instruction is provided to those new to the game. Paddles and balls are available year-round.

Both the indoor court and two outdoor courts are available for organized play over this 2-hour block period. During busy periods, 30 minute playing slots are expected by the Township of Muskoka Lakes regulations.

Tennis
The WP tennis courts have been recently refreshed and players are enjoying the smooth surface and clear court lines. Please notice the 2 sets of court lines on these outside courts, reflecting the 2 different sizes of courts for the 2 games (tennis and pickleball). During busy periods, 30 minute playing slots are expected by the Township of Muskoka Lakes regulations.
Pickleball
Pickleball lines now exist on the outside courts. Free play can occur any time. During busy periods, 30 minute playing slots are expected by the Township of Muskoka Lakes regulations.
Bring a pickleball paddle and an outdoor ball. Paddles and balls can be borrowed from the library when it is open.
Playground
There are also wonderful playground climbers, a slide and swings behind the centre as well as a hoop, basketballs and other items to use. Enjoy and keep our space delightful!
All Seasons Trails
4 kms of well marked woodland trails that can be enjoyed on foot or by snowshoe. The trellis marks the beginning of the WPCC Trail.

Walker's Point Trails
The new lookout trail, known locally as Berry Mountain, was a long time hidden gem of Muskoka Lakes. Walker's Point Lookout is well known locally for its wonderful view of Lake Muskoka. This short 1km trail offers a great view of Lake Muskoka.

WP Garden Diggers
Enjoy the flower beds in front of the community centre and library as well as the beds that are at the entrance of the point and road intersections! The beds are creatively planned and cared for by a dedicated group of energetic gardeners.
