Frequently Asked Questions
Please reach us at walkerspointlibrary@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
How many items can I borrow?
There is no limit on the number of books, audio books or materials that you can borrow from the library; however our newest materials may be subject to a limitation on both quantity and loan period, depending on demand.
What is the loan period on the item that I borrow?
The loan period on books/audio books is two weeks. DVDs may be borrowed for 3 days. During the winter season the two week/ 3 day periods may be extended upon request.
Are there overdue fines?
The items you have borrowed should be returned by the due date. You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card. The card holder will be responsible to replace lost or damaged books.
Are there volunteering opportunities?
If you would like to become more involved, you might consider joining our fantastic group of dedicated volunteers. Volunteering a few hours when the library is open or when events and/or programs are being offered would greatly help.
If you are interested in joining our team, contact the library during operating hours at 705-687-9965.
Are there opportunities for earning student community service hours?
Students may apply to the library to serve some or all of the 40 community service hours required to complete their Secondary School Diploma. If you are interested please contact the library during operating hours at 705-687-9965.
Does the library accept book donations?
In light of our limited shelving situation, we only accept recently published (within the past 2 years) books that are popular in nature.
Please contact one of the volunteer librarians who will review and approve the items you wish to donate before delivering them to the Library.
Should I drop off book donations?
The volunteer librarians have been known to find book donations that have been left at the Book Drop-Off Box. Unfortunately our Little Library has SPACE CONSTRAINTS, but we thank you for your generous gestures! Unless your collection has been pre-approved by a WPCL librarian, we suggest that you instead take your generous book donations to the Gravenhurst Public Library (GPL). Its space is much larger and can accommodate many more books, or they may be sold at the GPL Book Sale - contact GPL at 705-687-3382 or by Email
