AUGUST 2023 SPECIAL GUEST EVENT

On August 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM the WPCL will hold an event that will reflect the beginnings of Walker’s Point and the surrounding area. Pioneer Life was a challenging life but days were full of hope and new adventures! Check back here for more details as they are announced.

Events throughout the year are organized at the WPCC. The events listed below are a testimony to the strength of the Walker’s Point community and its desire to unite and celebrate relationship throughout the year.

COMMUNITY POTLUCK DINNERS

Community pot luck suppers are held at 5:30 pm on the last Tuesday of the month from September to November and January to May.  Bring a food item to share, your own dishes & cutlery and count on a wonderful evening of food and fellowship.

SUMMER CELEBRATIONS

On a mid-July Saturday afternoon, The Walker’s Point Community Library organizes an Open House with free-flowing activities and guests. In the past, our Volunteer Firefighters and the Gravenhurst Paramedics have met attendees and have shared their experiences and demonstrated their equipment. Guest authors have been invited and activities for the children have been set up! Yummy treats have also been enjoyed while milling the hall, library and grounds.

AUGUST SPECIAL GUEST

The second Thursday in August, at 2:00 PM, marks the beginning of a Special Event at the WPCC. A guest presentation appeals to the young and old of The Point and surrounding area.

Many interesting organizations have ventured out to complete a demonstration and answer questions. In the past, the Walker’s Point Community Library has arranged for the following guests to visit and have hosted refreshments afterwards:

  • Scales Nature Park
  • Muskoka Birds of Prey
  • Speaking of Wildlife
  • Therapeutic Paws of Canada, Muskoka
  • Jack Payette, Ojibwe author
