WALKER’S POINT COMMUNITY LIBRARY
It is time to wish everyone a merry Christmas and to thank each of you for your support and encouragement this year. Your library recently received not only the grant from the District of Muskoka but as well, a grant from the Bala Cranberry festival. The recognition of the library as a valuable community service is very much appreciated.

These two grants along with the generosity of so many of you mean that to date we have raised over $4,000 this year. The funds raised this year will be matched by the Township of Muskoka lakes. This   cooperation will certainly help to achieve our goal. We set out with the hope of raising enough money to increase the collection, improve the library and to have sufficient money to assure sustainability. With the amazing support we have had from you our members, the Township and the community at large we are delighted to say that we look forward to being better than ever in the year to come.
We continue to look for ways to reach out to our community and to Muskoka at large and to this goal,
one of our librarians is now writing book reviews for the local paper. A service that has been well received.

We continue to add to the collection and are devoting time and money to expand the youth section .As well we have been the fortunate recipients of an extensive collection of cook books. If you are going to be here over Christmas please come in and see all the changes and additions.
The Walker’s Point Community Christmas dinner and Santa visit was last week, and the library proved to be a very popular place for all the children. To encourage this the
library board had a selection of books for the children and each chose one to take home.
We will be having a children’s program on Dec. 28 at 10:00A.M. So if you are here please drop in and visit us.

Again, thank you for all your support and if you wish to donate before the year end your donation will be part of the matching funding and you  receive a tax receipt.

Library winter hours are;   Wed. Thurs. Sat.  12—3 (closed Boxing Day)

Children’s program is Dec.28 at 10:00 A.M – 12:00

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
